The Humberside Police stated that the body was found amongst the rocks on the beach at Withernsea around 8:30 AM GMT on Thursday. Initial attempts to recover the body were hampered by challenging conditions, specifically the tide and other environmental factors. An inquest into the deaths of Mark Ratcliffe and Sarah Keeling was opened at Hull Coroners' Court on January 12th. Preliminary post-mortem examination results revealed that Sarah Keeling died from drowning, complicated by head and neck injuries. She was a sales professional from Sutton-in-Ashfield in Nottinghamshire. Ratcliffe, a retired warehouse worker from Withernsea, originally from Bradford, tragically died from drowning and chest injuries. The inquest has been adjourned to a later date.
