Remembering Clodagh Blighe (née Cussen) | A Life of Love, Courage, and Family (2025)

A life well-lived and a legacy to cherish - that's the story of Clodagh Blighe, a beloved figure in the Midwest Radio community. Clodagh, a resident of Galway and formerly of Wexford and Drogheda, passed away on November 30, 2025, leaving behind a trail of memories and a loving family.

But here's where it gets emotional. Clodagh's journey with a long-term illness was one of resilience and courage, a testament to her strength and the support of her family. She leaves behind a heartbroken husband, Fred, and two cherished sons, Morgan and Christian, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

And this is the part most people miss - the extended family and friends who were a part of Clodagh's life. Her parents, Michael and Rita, are devastated, as are her siblings Pat, Jim, and Orlaith, who will miss their sister dearly. The list of relatives and friends goes on, including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and even her four-legged companion, Buster.

Clodagh's gentle soul will now find peace, and her family invites you to join them in remembering her life.

On Wednesday, December 3rd, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Clodagh will repose in St. Anthony's Room, adjacent to St. John the Apostle Church in Knocknacarra (H91 W0H4). The funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, December 4th, at 12 noon in the same church, followed by a private family service at Shannon Crematorium (V14 PV30).

The family requests privacy during this difficult time and asks that only family flowers be sent. If you wish to make a donation in Clodagh's memory, the Galway Hospice (https://galwayhospice.ie/donate/) would greatly appreciate your support.

For those unable to attend, you can still be a part of the service by watching the live-stream at https://www.churchtv.ie/knocknacarra/.

Please feel free to share your condolences and memories of Clodagh in the section below. Your words of comfort will be a blessing to her family during this time of grief.

Rest in peace, Clodagh. Your spirit will live on in the hearts of those you loved and who loved you back.
