Michael Martin, a veteran in the radio industry, has stepped down from his role as Brand Manager of Audacy's Hot AC station, Alice 97.3 (KLLC) in San Francisco, to take on a new challenge. With a focus on his national responsibilities as SVP of Programming and Head of Music Initiatives for Audacy, Martin is leaving behind a legacy of successful programming and leadership.
Martin's journey began at CBS Radio San Francisco in 2009, where he programmed KLLC and CHR station 99.7 Now (KMVQ). Over the years, he expanded his influence to oversee Rhythmic AC Q102.1 (KRBQ), Variety Hits 105.3 Dave-FM (KITS), and CHR 97.1 Amp Radio (KAMP) in Los Angeles. Prior to joining CBS/Audacy, Martin's career at Clear Channel saw him rise through the ranks, from Music Director of 102.7 KIIS-FM Los Angeles to Operations Manager, while also programming KYSR Los Angeles, KIOI, KMEL, and KYLD San Francisco.
Audacy's San Francisco SVP/Market Manager, Kieran Geffert, praised Martin's 16 years of leadership and passion for Alice and all of Audacy's brands. Geffert highlighted Martin's programming vision, artist partnerships, signature events, and steady leadership as integral to Alice's success and trajectory over the years.
Chief Programming Officer Jeff Sottolano also paid tribute to Martin's contributions, stating that he has been a valuable asset to the success of Audacy's San Francisco brands for almost two decades. Sottolano noted Martin's leadership of highly rated shows and award-winning on-air talent, as well as his role in bringing renowned artists like Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and John Mayer to San Francisco.
As Martin transitions to his new national duties, Audacy is set to announce plans for KLLC's programming leadership in the coming days, ensuring a smooth continuation of the station's success and influence.
